Tuesday's Trendy Tip: Orange!
According to Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute, "Consumers look to spring for renewed energy, optimism and the promise of a brighter day". I couldn't agree with this more! It's amazing to see the racks in the store transform from dull and drab to bright and cheery as we switch from winter to spring. If you don't already know, the hot color for spring is Tangerine Tango PANTONE 17-463.
From clothing and accessories to your nails and make-up, make sure you figure out a way to work this color into your life for the next few months.

Feel Fresh Fridays: Vintage
Vintage has been a growing trend in the fashion world for years now and who could disagree? Even high end designer brands these days are not constructed with the same quality as that of a true vintage piece. The vintage items in my closet collect endless compliments every time I wear them, as they should, they have withstood the test of time and are still in great shape and fashionable!
Recently we had an incredible woman come in who was moving and had to clean out her house, she shared with us some awesome vintage clothing and she said there is more to come. The clothing pictured below came from her and the clutch and the shoes are newer items but clearly vintage inspired. Enjoy!
Please share your vintage finds with us in the comment section below or shoot an email to info@growingkidsNJ.com. We'd love to hear about them!
Also, don't forget tomorrow is the last day for our ladies shoe sale...come scoop up the deals :)

Feel Fresh Fridays: Dresses
Luckily, the spring weather has arrived earlier than expected. Aside from today, I'm sure we've all been digging up last year's wardrobe looking for something suitable to wear on these sunny, 70° days - which will be back tomorrow! However, I've been having trouble finding something that excites me as much as the weather.
Simple, light-weight dresses are the best transition piece for any wardrobe during this time in the year. They can be paired with jackets and boots on cooler days or just sandals when it's hot. This season, Renewal has the perfect spring dresses for any body type and style.
Elasticized Waistline:
An elasticized waist helps to draw attention away from the hip area and accentuate the bust.
Mimi Chica (Medium) - Lush (Medium) - Mimi Chica (Medium) |
The empire waist is a classic style. Like the elasticized waist, it compliments the bust nicely and helps to enlongate the legs.
Trixxie (Sz. 7) - Ruby Rox (Medium) - Aqua (Large) |
A cinched waist forms a nice silhouette on almost any body type. The hourglass-like shape makes the waist appear small and creates nice curves for both the upper and lower body.
Proenza Schouler (Medium) - Spring Street (Small) - Mandees (Medium) |

Maternity Style...
There is no doubt about it, this weather is incredible! Contrary to popular belief, just because your baby bump is growing, doesn't mean you can't still look great and stay stylish.
I was recently reading Parenting Magazine and I stumbled upon something that I found very interesting and motivating.
Interesting way to think about it...embrace your new shape and celebrate your pregnancy with fashion.
A lightweight solid cardigan like this is a perfect staple for your maternity wardrobe. A tank with something to gather above your belly is great because it accentuates the smallest area of your torso near your rib cage...and who can go wrong with a pair of white shorts? Yes, you can still wear heels while you are pregnant, just look for a platform bottom for extra comfort - and the cork sole is even softer!
I am a big fan of designer jeans regularly and I think everyone should own at least one pair - the fit and the fabric is just unlike anything else. I must say, everyone needs to splurge on a nice pair of designer jeans while they are pregnant - even if you are only going to get 9 months out of them - it will be worth every penny to feel and look great while you have them on. It's important to look for a leg shape or style that you would have worn pre-pregnancy so you don't feel frumpy in your newly acquired "Mom Jeans". A blazer is also essential because the possibilities are endless, you can dress it up to go out or throw it on with nearly anything todouble as a spring jacket.
Renewal offers stylish ways for you to be comfortable during your pregnancy with quality fashions at great prices...stop in so we can help you look and feel great while you are preparing for that little one!

Again, the tapered look of this lightweight shirt is what you should look for, a denim skirt and solid gray tank are two summer necessities, and the espadrilles wedge is very stylish and the most comfortable by far!

Tuesday's Trendy Tip: Flattering your body type
We're introducing an exciting new feature to our blog, every Tuesday we'll be sharing some sort of fashion or beauty tip with you!
We all have different parts of our body that we either love to accentuate or try desperately to cover up. In this Tuesday's Trendy Tip, we're going to show you how to flatter any bra size.
Adding dimension with a triangle top or ruffles will really look great on anyone who is between an A-cup and a small B.
A deep V-neck or stripes really highlights a medium sized chest from a size B-cup to a small C.
If you are a full C or bigger, a structured high neck can show off your curves while staying reserved, and a wrap top can be very flattering because it helps to draw the eye to all the right places.
